b'From the Technology Deployment DirectorAs Idaho National Laboratorys director of Technology Deployment, I am proud to serve an organization with such dedication to innovation. The deployment and industry use of INLs capabilities is paramount to ensuring the nations energy security. Our technology transfer goal is to create impact by ensuring INL capabilities and technologies are used to improve lives, keep our nation safe, and help our economy flourish. Creating and deploying INLs intellectual assets and capabilities is a team effort, involving our esteemed innovators along with many individuals and organizations. The accomplishments captured in this report reflect contributions from numerous INL employees.INL continued to face unusual circumstances in fiscal year 2021. Still, our innovators and technology transfer staff delivered impressive numbers for innovation disclosures and license agreements. In the past five years, INL has tripled its annual innovation disclosures and more than doubled its active licenses, achieving a record 163 innovation disclosures and more than 450 active licenses. INLs collaborative spirit led to numerous Strategic Partnership Projects, User Facility, and Cooperative Research and Development Agreements to address industry challenges.Innovation is not just a word at INLits part of our DNA.We lead national laboratories in Energy I-Corps participation, celebrate innovation and strive to translate research outcomes to real world impact. This is evident from the numerous Technology Commercialization Fund, R&D 100, Small Business Innovation and other awards earned by our innovators. We appreciate the strong support from private and government sponsors, the Department of Energy, commercial partners, and INL leadership over the past year.We encourage you to read more about the impactful deployments captured in this report.
