Seaborg Distinguished Postdoctoral Associate Program added three new appointments in FY-21.Trishelle Copeland-Johnson specializes in optimizing high-performance materials by developing multi-modal materials characterization studies, incorporating chemical engineering principles to identify property-performance relationships. She holds a Ph.D. in materials science from Iowa State University and is working under the mentorship of Lingfeng He.Charlyne Smith earned a doctorate from University of Florida while studying fuel performance of qualified nuclear fuels for commercial and research use. She was an INL intern and one of 28 participants selected worldwide to be a part of the OECD Nuclear Energy Agencys Nuclear Innovation Bootcamp held in Paris.Maria Roco Rodrguez-Laguna holds a doctorate in materials science from Universitat Autnoma de Barcelona/Institut Catal de Nanocincia i Nanotecnologia, where she studied graphene nanofluids from room temperature to molten salts formulations for solar-thermal conversion.THEN AND NOW: Pictured at her 2019 Intern Expo poster session, Charlyne Smith went on to earn her doctorate at theUniversity of Florida, studying fuel performance under irradiation of qualified nuclear fuels for commercial andresearch. That same year she was one of 28 participants selected worldwide to be a part of the OECD NuclearEnergy Agencys Nuclear Innovation Bootcamp held in Paris. In August 2021, she began herappointment as a Glenn T. Seaborg Distinguished Postdoctoral Associate.14'
